Yesterday evening, Rob Cavestany of Bay Area thrash legends Death Angel was kind enough to offer his thoughts and views on music, Death Angel's third album Act III, and a fellow Bay Area band that shares many parallels with Death Angel.
Currently on tour with Soilwork, Death Angel turned their off day into a headlining show at the Parish at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Labelmates Swashbuckle and Augury each helped warm up the audience with their unique and well-crafted works. This was a rare instance of every band being exceptional and exciting.
Death Angel's new album Relentless Retribution hits the US on 9/14/10, Europe on 9/3/10. Rob also has a mellow solo album, Lines on the Road for those who want to hear something different from this wonderfully gifted guitarist, singer and songwriter. It's worth checking out!

Welcome / The Endgame
Everyone has something in their life they are very passionate about be it their job, a hobby, or sports to name but a couple. My hobby is music, and a side effect of being so engulfed in it is the discovery of music so pleasing to one's senses that it should be shared with the world and blasted from every rooftop.
But it becomes very frustrating if the world already had its chance and blew it big time. Enter Criminally Underrated.
This project's goal is to put forth a book highlighting albums in case study format as to give the world (on a listener by listener basis) a second chance and perhaps new listening tools for music in general.
Once this project has recouped costs, all profits will be donated to the Sacred Heart Children's Hospital of Pensacola, Florida. Not enough good can be said of these people and the miracles they work on a daily basis.
Exclusive updates will be posted here containing progress reports on Criminally Underrated as well as occasional interview excerpts, random thoughts, and/or blanket requests for anything readers might like to contribute.
